FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does my data leave my computer?
No. The spreadsheet and the XML files stay on your computer.
How do I get the app?
Contact us and we will send it to you with a free trial.
What does the free trial include?
Every feature, for up to 10 accounts in total.
What counts as an account?
Each account number reported to a country counts once per licence, however many payment rows it has and however many times you run the file. If you fix something and generate again, only accounts that are new to your licence count. Runs that stop with errors never count.
How do I receive my licence?
We email you a license.json file within 24-48 hours of purchase. Copy it next to crs_desktop_app.exe and restart the app.
What if my file has errors?
The app checks the whole file, lists every problem with its row and column in a file that opens in Excel, and creates no XML until they are fixed. Nothing is counted against your licence.
Will the tax authority accept the files?
Every file is validated against the official CRS XML schema your tax authority uses (2.0 or 3.0). Acceptance also depends on your data and local rules, so please review the validation report before you submit.
Does it support the new CRS XML schema 3.0?
Yes. The app writes both the original schema 2.0 and the amended-CRS schema 3.0, required by most tax authorities from 2026 data (filed in 2027). Pick the version your tax authority asks for, and every file is validated against that official OECD schema.
Which countries can I file in?
Any jurisdiction that uses the OECD CRS XML schema 2.0 or 3.0. The files are for domestic filing with your own tax authority.
Can I report entity (organisation) accounts, corrections or nil returns?
Not yet. Individual account holders, new data and test data are supported today.
Are joint accounts supported?
Yes. Add a Joint Holders column with the number of holders; each holder is reported with the full balance and payments, in their own country's file. Without that column, one account number used for two people is flagged as an error, so typos are never mistaken for joint accounts.
Can I use it for several financial institutions?
One financial institution per installation. Contact us if you report for more than one.
Does it work on Mac?
Not at the moment. The app runs on Windows only.
What does "financial adjustments were applied" mean?
Amounts are rounded to two decimals and negative balances reported as zero, as CRS requires. Every change is listed for you to review.
My account numbers lost their leading zeros.
Store account numbers, TINs and post codes as text in the system you export from. The app warns you when Excel has dropped zeros.
